Supernatural Se04Ep05 "Monster Movie"

After all the angst on the last episode, in true typical Supernatural style, we are presented with a kinda interval episode that serves the purpose of mostly to lighten the mood with some funnies. And it works every time! Well, almost in this case.

"I am become death. Fear me!"

Since I am not a monster movie buff, half of the effort made on this episode was pretty much wasted. And as funny as some of the scenes are and as great as the dialogues were, "re-hymenated" LOL, it just didn't really hit the mark like Tall Tales or one of my favorites of all times, Ghostfacers. Although, Dracula paying for pizza delivery with a coupon comes quite close.

The black and white feel and the editing was well done. It really does have a old school, cliche vibe. And did anybody else get the intentional pun about this being a straightforward, black and white job? Of course y'all did LOL

"You smell so good. I must have you!"
"Damn you, Old Spice!"

Overall I'd give it 3.75 stars. Could've been funnier and since I'm not a monster movie buff, I can't really appreciate the episode.

Heroes Se03Ep05 "Angels and Monsters"

I was right. Nobody stays dead in this series. Even people who we thought were dead before the show even started. Or apparently, they have triplets. It's like Days of Our Lives... with superpowers!

Sylar: Join the dark side, Peter.
Peter: Never!
Sylar: Join me. I am your brother.
Peter: Noooo!!!
Sylar: We have cookies.
Peter: Why didn't you say so? Okay!
It seems that Sylar was never the bad guy after all. He' just misunderstood. I guess that makes everything fine then *roll eyes*. And now that Peter has Sylar's power, it consumes his momma's boy image and turned him into a real badass worthy of Level 5. Mmmm yummy. Evil is such a turn on!

"Join me, Peter. And together we can rule the empire!"

We are introduced to more new characters in this episode. Another escaped villain, Stephen Canfield, a guy who can create vortex and make people disappear in them. He accidentally "killed" his neighbor and thus sentenced to become a resident of Level 5 for 2 years. A real family guy, the first thing he does after escaping is look for his family at his previous residence. What is wrong with this guy? Didn't he read the Villain 101 handbook when he was incarcerated? That would be the first place the authorities would look to find him! Thanks to Claire showing up, he managed to escape. Of course when daddy dearest appeared with the boogie man, that's enough to traumatize any teenage girl for life. Poor, Claire bear. I have to admit, I am becoming less interested in the character. She's supposedly doubting her own mortality and losing her humanity in the process, but all I see is an angsty, overprotected teenage girl who doesn't appreciate the lengths people who care about her go to protect her.

"Hiro, It seems that we are now the comic relief of the show."
"Orororo!"

Hiro and Ando's scenes always leave me giggling. They have to dig up Adam Monroe a.k.a. Takezo Kensei to help them get the formula back. The bargaining scene at the cemetery is priceless! "You little Japanese nazi!" LOL Their exploits and the extent Hiro is willing to go on his mission to save the world is something I look forward to every week. A bit of a shocker there, but I have my doubts about things being how they seem. But you never know.

What is happening with good ol' doc Suresh? Is he turning into.. the Human Spider
TM?

More villains revealed. And the head honcho of all is revealed at the very end as well. Heroes is totally turning into a family affair.

"Twilight " Final Trailer

I think I prefer the teaser trailers, but oh well. Can't wait to see it, whenever they finally deem it worthy to be shown here in Malaysia, that is. *grumblesnortgrumble*

Announcement

I give up. I'm sorry. I cannot keep up with the reviews for the shows! *wails in frustration*

But fret not. I will persevere. Or put up a good attempt at it ^_^

Heroes Se03Ep02 "The Butterfly Effect"

I am at a loss for words. How can I possibly sit and write a review for the episode, when all I want to do is go watch the next one? Damn it!

Well, the good doctor has finally gone bad boy on us and decides it's about time he got some action. Score! Oooh, who's been a naughty doctor then? It seems that with great power, comes great sense of irresponsibility. Mohinder and Maya do the dirty deed in the lab, no less!

Check out the doc's lean and hairless body!

Hiro and Ando travel all the way Paris, France in pursuit of the superfast thief that has stolen the formula. Hiro still doesn't trust Ando, after travelling to the future just in time to see Ando kill him with red electrity bolt type power. The dynamics between these two are just enjoyable. Or maybe it's just the speaking in Japanese that did it for me? Will Ando eventually betray Hiro because he chose Daphne, super sonic girl, over him? Hey, it could happen! Again, our poor Hiro was outsmarted and the formula was once again out of his grasp. Way to prolong the foreplay!

Peter saves Claire from being hit by a train. Well, future!Peter did. Again, I am captivated and kinda weirded out how coupl-y they look together on screen. I think I should stop watching gossip channel. It's messing up my experience in watching Heroes. Would've been fun though to see Claire being hit by a train. Erm, right. Moving on.

"Is that a gun in your pocket, or are just happy to see me?"

Ahhh, Nikki. Or Jessica. Or Tracy. Is she yet another manifestation of Nikki's split personality? Or a completely new person, complete with new powers to freeze people? And what happened to Micah and that girl with copycat power? I'm not placing any bets on this one. The writer's will certainly find a way to completely throw me off the trail. Those people must be paid for their talent in gold. Literally.

Is Linderman really alive? Or has Nathan finally lost it? I am going for the latter, I think. But like I said, the shows' writers have a way of squirming out of the most impossible loopholes and leave the viewers baffled and confused.

The Level 5 villains have escaped! Yeay! I think. It's about time we got to see how real badasses work. Sylar who?

90210 Se01Ep07 "Hollywood Forever"

Vanilla. This show is a total vanilla compared to all the others. Why do I even bother watching it? Oh, erm, right. The teacher, Mr Matthews is total hottie. The new principal is kinda cute too. But Ethan? LOL. Oh dear. I will never be able to get the image of him in Supernatural's Ghostfacers as the nerd intern who was in love with his boss, a guy, out of my head. I just can't see him as the school hunk. Sorry. I just can't. Why can't they have picked better looking kids as the main cast, I'll never know.

"Thanks to my part in Supernatural as a gay nerd, I am now the lead actor for a teen series. Go me!"

The new student seems promising. I sense chemistry between her and Mr Matthews. Turns out she's a narcotics officer in disguise. Bummer. I was kinda holding my breath for a student-teacher relationship to shake things up.

Divorce. Drugs. Boyfriends who don't watch horror movies. On again, off again relationship between 2 characters, complete with complicated relationship with ex-girlfriend. Been there, done that. I'm better off watching Gossip Girl.

Heroes Se03Ep01 "The Second Coming"

Gasp. Gasp. GASP.

This is why I love this show so much. You can never tell what is going to happen. The opening scene with Claire gone bad and shooting Peter implies so much. What happened after Nathan revealed the truth? The ones with powers are hunted down like fugitives, and is Claire working for the Agency now? And did anybody else feel the electricity between Hayden and Milo? Which is just wrong for the show because he is her uncle?

Does nobody stay dead or without a power in this show? Let's see if we can keep up.

    • Claire - regenerated so many times, I don't even bother with numbers
    • Peter - thanks to Claire, he is able to regenerate too
    • Sylar - thanks to Claire - again - now Sylar can't die too. And what was with the scene with him literally picking at her brain? Why didn't he have to eat hers?
    • HRG - courtesy of Claire, yet again. Maybe this is what they mean by "Save the cheerleader. Save the characters... I mean, world.
    • Nikki/Jessica/Tracy? - doesn't regenerate or come back from the dead. Just notoriously hard to kill
    • Nathan - healed from severe radioactive burns once by Adam Monroe aka Takezo Kensei, and back from the dead once courtesy of Linderman
    • Linderman - so... he can heal others. How did he heal himself from getting his brain scrambled?
    • Mohinder - superpoers at last! Screw world-moving-scientific discoveries. He now has super strength type power. Yeay!
    "I'm baaaaack!

Oh, and Level 5? Now, there's something to look forward to. And why is HRG placed there? Is he so dangerous to the Agency that he's been upgraded from Level 2 where he was contained before? Is the bald headed guy screaming that he's Peter Petrelli really Peter Petrelli? Guess future!Peter has learned some newer and cooler tricks.

Oh, and Hiro. Why did you open the safe? And the part the video where his father already knew that Hiro would open the safe. LOL Cool new character. Was she imune to Hiro's power? Can we say love interest?

"Don't we make a cute couple? Milo and Hayden, eat your heart out!"

Now, just a quick recap. Matt is in the desert. Peter is in Level 5 containment unit together with other badasses, including HRG. Mohinder has superstrength. Sylar has gotten Claire's power and is hungry for more badass powers. Claire has lost her innocence, which will lead her to a path of coloring her hair black and wearing tight, black leather in the future. Nikki has yet another split personality, called Tracy. Oh, and Hiro will finally get laid by a woman who can move with the speed of sound. Maybe. Hey, it could happen.

I am so gonna watch the second episode today!

    Supernatural Se04Ep03 "In The Beginning"

Dum dum daaa! Now, I get it! And more Castiel - yeay! Erm, he's still wearing the same trench coat since we first saw him. Don't angels need a change of clothes? Maybe they are divinely hygienic creatures? Who can tell? For all we know, Castiel is an angel of travel and Thursdays. That Kripke, always with his sense of humor LOL

In this episode, Dean gets transported thru time back to when his parents, John and Mary, were young 'uns and not yet married. We know from the preview that he is sent back by Castiel to stop something.

    SPOILER ALERT

"Dean.. I have something to tell you..." Ha! I wish! I really do..

Did anybody else get bothered by the scene with Dean waking u
p from a nightmare and Castiel sitting beside him on the bed, or was it just me? Erm, my inner slasher will be working overtime thanks to that particular scene *licks lips suggestively*

“Sammy wherever you are, mom’s a babe. I’m going to hell…again.” - Dean

That quote totally wins at life LOL. Jensen Ackles has perfect comedic
timing and his facial expression was just right. He is a talented, talented man. As you all know, I watch Supernatural for the plot and the abundance of erm... talent on the show *coughcough*

So Mary was a hunter too. And so were gramps Winchesters. No wonder the boys are such good hunters. It's their jeans... I mean, genes. These time traveling plots always boggle me to no ends so I'll stick to the basics.

Castiel sent Dean back to change the past. Now, if we think about this carefully, we know this doesn't make sense. But I digress. Azezel, as he is affectionately known among his demon friends, or Yellow Eyed Demon (YED) as he is better known among Supernatural fans, makes the deals back then. The catch? Not souls, apparently. Just to let him feed his blood to your offspring so they can lead his army of demons. You know, same 'ol, same 'ol.

"So then every jumps out and say.. Surprise!" (Dean) "I don't get it" (Samuel)

The Wichester clan, grampa, mom and Dean, stops the demon as he was about to make a deal and that was how he first met Mary.

Stop! Something just occured to me. What was Mary's maiden name? Technically, they're not the Winchester clan, but let's proceed for the sake of clarity and my sanity, shall we?

    As I was saying,
the Wichester clan, grampa, mom and Dean, stops the demon as he was about to make a deal and that was how he first met Mary. Turns out YED has a thing for spunky blondes. Did he knew she was special then? Did Mary have special powers too? I don't know. But after Dean failed to kill YED with the Colt, which he borrowed, he told the truth to Samuel, his grandfather that he was from the future.

Turns out, gramps is possesed by YED. Go figure. Took them 3 generations to figure out to just put a tattoo on their skin so that that can't happen? Hmph! YED continues to kill grandma and stick a knife into grampa just for good measure. Oh, he kills John Winchester too. Mary made a deal with YED to save John's life. So now we know.

Castiel then appears and transports Dean back to present time. On the bed. Again. Erm, wow. My inner slasher just imploded. Then Castiel tells Dean that he couldn't have changed anything anyways, that he cannot change destiny. He just wanted Dean to know the truth about his family. A-ha! I told you that going back in time to change history was almost certain no-no!

Castiel the nods to the empty bed next to Dean. Where is Sammy? Off on a date with his demon gal pal, The Demon Formerly Known As Ruby?

"This car is way cooler than the Impala. Sorry, Dean" Gah, blasphemy!

"Your brother is headed on dangerous road, Dean. We don't know where it will lead. So stop it. Or we will." - Castiel
To be continued next week... Gah! Is this a great show or what?
